Alan Rosling is co-founder & director of ECube, a specialist in ESG advisory and climate finance in India. Mr. Rosling was earlier co-founder of Kiran Energy Solar Power and previously an Executive Director of Tata Sons Limited, where he was in charge of the Tata Group’s internationalization drive. Mr. Rosling was educated at Cambridge University and the Harvard Business School and in 2014 was awarded Commander of the British Empire (CBE).
Christine McNamara has joined the Board effective March 1, 2022, as Independent Director. Christine has extensive global experience of more than 25 years in leading FTSE 100 blue chip energy companies. She has held senior leadership positions across E&P upstream, power, electricity transmission, and telecommunications networks sectors. Her India energy experience entailed working with PowerGen Plc and BG Group Plc. Christine is an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) & Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) (Chartered Institute Management Accountants), UK, She holds a Certificate of Advanced Management from Wharton School of Management, Pennsylvania, USA and Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree from University College Cork, Ireland.
Supriya Sen joined as Board of Director of our Company from August 2020. Ms. Sen has 30 years of experience in banking, private equity, capital markets and multilateral funding and investment as well as significant involvement in sustainability initiatives globally and in India.
Ms. Sen serves as an independent director for firms and non-profit organizations in Asia where her emphasis has been on strategy, governance and fund-raising. As a strategy consultant, Ms. Sen has advised clients in South East Asia, South Asia and China on innovative financing, policy and strategy development in transport, energy, urban and sustainable finance projects. Ms. Sen has also worked on differentiated funding models for enabling private investment in green infrastructure.
Previously, Ms. Sen worked as a private equity investor and project finance banker on climate- smart transactions in energy, mobility, telecom, urban & water, social infrastructure, and banking sectors in India, China, South East Asia and Middle East. She also has been in advisory and investment roles within Public Private Partnership (PPP) infrastructure projects for banks and financial institutions, such as Citigroup Global Markets, Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank Group.
Ms. Sen holds an honors undergraduate degree in engineering from Bangalore University and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. She also completed various executive development programs in strategic innovation, public policy and governance at Kennedy School of Government, Singapore Institute of Directors and Harvard Business School.
Muhammad Khalid Peyrye heads the Corporate Secretarial and Administration cluster of AAA Global Services Ltd. Mr. Peyrye has been involved as a Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Compliance officer of various companies involved in the financial services sector. He has worked for several years with a leading financial services company and accountancy firm and has extensive experience on company formations, company administration, corporate secretarial services, cross-border investment activities and corporate organizational transactions such as mergers and acquisitions. He also serves as a director on the board of several companies in Mauritius.
Mr. Peyrye holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Management from the University of Mauritius and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of the United Kingdom.
Cyril Cabanes has been a member of our Company’s Board of Directors since January 2017. He is currently the Managing Director of CDPQ’s Asia-Pacific Infrastructure investments business based in Singapore. He has 24 years of experience across all facets of infrastructure transactions including acquisitions, financing and fundraising. This includes his term at Marubeni Corp., where he led the Asian IPP investment team in Singapore. Previously, Mr. Cabanes was Director and Portfolio Manager at Deutsche Bank’s infrastructure investment unit (DWS) where he was responsible for acquisitions, capital raising and product development for Asia-Pacific. Prior to that, Mr. Cabanes spent 10 years in investment banking and financial markets with RBS, BNP Paribas and UBS. Mr. Cabanes holds a Masters from ESCP‑Europe and attended the MBA programme at Drexel University .
Deepak Malhotra is Director, Infrastructure, South Asia at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ). He has over 18 years of experience across all facets of infrastructure. Before joining CDPQ in 2018, Mr. Malhotra worked with International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank Group, where he led many debt and equity investments in the infrastructure sector. Prior to IFC, Mr. Malhotra worked with one of the leading credit rating agencies in India and in the Merchant Navy. Mr. Malhotra holds a Bachelors Degree from Delhi University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.
M.S Unnikrishnan has over 30 years of experience in the energy and environmental sector. In his most recent role as Managing Director and CEO of Thermax Ltd., he led the implementation of a strategy to accelerate Thermax's growth and position it as one of the leading suppliers of power systems and equipment with a market capitalisation of over US$1 billion. Thermax Ltd has been recognized for having exemplary management, strong corporate governance, excellent transparency and stringent ethical practices. Mr. Unnikrishnan has received numerous accolades for his leadership including Asia Innovator of the Year by CNBC Asia, one of the best CEOs in India by Grant Thorton, and India Innovator of the Year by CNBC India. Mr. Unnikrishnan is also actively involved with various industry bodies to help in policy making and technology development for India.
Mr. Unnikrishnan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from Visveswaraiya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur and has completed an Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School.
Delphine Voeltzel has joined the Board in May, 2022, as Nominee Director appointed by OMERS Infrastructure. Delphine brings over 13 years of professional experience in banking and private equity in the infrastructure sector across Europe and Asia. She is currently the Managing Director of OMERS Infrastructure in Asia, and she is responsible for originating and executing new transactions in Asia and managing the existing investment portfolio. Previously, Delphine was responsible for investing on behalf of OMERS across the European energy, utilities and renewables value chain. Prior to joining OMERS in 2012, Delphine worked in investment banking at Rothschild in London, where she was advising corporates and financial investors on M&A transactions in the utilities, transport and infrastructure sectors. Delphine holds a Master of Science in Management from HEC Paris School of Management.
Jean-François Boisvenu has more than 25 years of extensive experience in corporate and commercial law matters, with particular expertise in international banking transactions, lending and debt capital markets transactions and financial institutions regulation.
Mr. Boisvenu is a partner at Eversheds Sutherland (Mauritius), where he has been heading the banking and finance practice since 2017. Prior to that, he was Group Head Legal at AfrAsia Bank Limited and worked at BLC Robert. Before moving to Mauritius in 2009, Mr. Boisvenu was a partner at the Canadian law firm McCarthy Tétrault (Banking and Insolvency Department), where he had practiced in the Montreal office. Mr. Boisvenu is a Member of the Quebec Bar (Canada) and a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Mauritius.
Mr. Boisvenu holds degrees in Law from University of Montreal and Quebec Bar School (Canada). He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics from École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal.
Gowtamsingh (Vikash) Dabee has over 25 years of experience as a professional accountant in public practice and industry in Mauritius, Africa, and the Middle East.
Mr Dabee is a Partner of GD Riches Chartered Accountants and is an auditor, public accountant, and insolvency practitioner in Mauritius. Prior to that, he served as the CFO and Company Secretary of a multinational corporation in Mauritius where he was instrumental in implementing SOX internal control systems for the group subsidiaries. He also worked with the representative office of Andersen Worldwide in Mauritius and the Arthur Andersen Office in Dubai.
Mr. Dabee is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a Fellow of Chartered Association of Certified Accountant (FCCA). He holds an MBA from Surrey Business School, University of Surrey, UK, and an Advanced Diploma in International Tax from the Chartered Institute of Taxation UK (CIOT). He is a registered insolvency practitioner in Mauritius and a member of INSOL.
Rupesh Agarwal brings over two decades of leadership experience in asset development and strategy consulting; advising leading utilities and private equity investors on developing and managing their cleantech investments. Rupesh is currently the acting Chief Executive Officer at Azure Power.
Prior to Azure Power, he has held leadership positions at Convergence Energy Services; Government of India owned company; Lightsource India, BDO, & EY. He was also the founder of AEM Energi & Motum, a zero-emission electric mobility company which pioneered India’s first public electric bus trials under a wet lease model for urban utilities.
Rupesh holds a degree in Masters of Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, (MGSM) Australia and has been featured as a Brand Ambassador for MGSM. Rupesh was also nominated as the Endeavour Award Ambassador for 2015-16 by the Australian High Commissioner to India. He has completed his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from RVCE, Bangalore University, India.
Mr. Sugata Sircar has over 32 years of experience in energy & automation, chemicals, textiles, tyres, FMCG and city gas distribution. He has served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Schneider Electric India for over 7 years. He has been the Managing Director at Gujarat Gas, the largest listed city gas distribution company in India (a subsidiary of BG Group of UK) and prior to that, he was Finance Director & CFO at Gujarat Gas. He has also worked with companies like Cabot India, Madura Coats, Britannia Industries and Dunlop India in various finance roles.
Mr. Sircar is a business advisor, speaker, and writer. He is on the Executive Committee of the CFO Board (India's pre-eminent body of financial leaders) and is Ex Chairman, CFO Committee, Indo French Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Mr. Sircar is a fellow member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has completed a Global Advanced Management Program at ISB-Kellogs School, India/US. He has also completed a Business Leaders Program from Harvard Business School.
Pawan has experience in corporate and structured finance, portfolio monitoring, financial analysis, credit rating, business development and relationship management in the infrastructure sector with special focus on renewable energy. Previously, he was the Chief Investment Officer of Azure Power and overlooked the capital and investment portfolios for the company. Prior to Azure Power, Pawan has served as Group President II & Dy. Head – Corporate Finance Infrastructure Banking and National Head Renewable Energy at YES Bank. Pawan was instrumental in issuance of India’s first Green Bond as well as India’s first IIFCL/ADB braced Partial Credit Enhanced Bond in Indian Solar Sector. Pawan has also worked with CRISIL, Indian-Oil and Ernst & Young.
Pawan is a Rankholder Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University, and has also cleared all three levels of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA, USA).
R Narasimhan Iyer has over 30 years of experience in business operations, strategic execution, power transmission, distribution, metering & renewable energy generation space. He holds deep experience in energy sector technologies and robust understanding of energy policies, strategies, institutions and regulations. He served as Director Operations at SB Energy (SoftBank Group) and has also worked with companies like SunEdison, Schneider Electric, Secure Meters, IBM, and ABB in various roles like roles and capacities.
He holds a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani and a Gold Medallist in Post Graduate Diploma in International Business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi.
Shweta Srivastava brings over two decades of diverse human resources experience in Talent Acquisition, Business Partnering, Leadership & OD, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Engagement, HR Strategy & Growth. She has worked in Fortune 500 corporations, across industries like hi-tech, consumer, life sciences & infrastructure and across geographies like India, Southeast Asia, UK, Brazil, and others. Shweta is currently the Chief Human Resources Officer at Azure Power.
Prior to Azure Power, she worked with Vedanta Ltd as Group Head Talent Acquisition and as People Strategy Leader at Sterlite Power (part of Vedanta Group). Her other experiences include senior leadership positions at Indus Towers Limited, United health Group, Qualcomm, Motorola, and Ericsson.
Shweta holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resources from Pune University and her Bachelors is from Ambedkar University, Agra. She has also completed a Leadership Excellence Program from Harvard Business School.
Akriti brings in with her rich and diverse experience in undertaking complex legal and regulatory issues. She has been involved in several crucial projects in diverse areas of law including Power and Energy, Corporate and Commercial Laws, Intellectual Property, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. At Azure, she has been instrumental in strategizing and driving litigations and non-adversarial tariff claims before various Electricity Regulatory Commissions, negotiating complex documentation, providing cross-functional strategic support by advancing business interest within the legal parameters. Prior to joining Azure Power, Akriti has worked with S&R Associates, A&M Law offices and at Chambers of Senior Advocate, Mr. Ritin Rai. She has also represented the Government of India before Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India in Service, Tax and Constitutional matters.
Akriti holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (Hons) from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Faculty of Law, Delhi University. She is registered with the Bar Council of India.
Vijay Kumar Wadhwani has over 22 years of experience across Accounting, Auditing, Financial Management and Reporting, Legal & Secretarial, Indirect Taxation and Merger & Acquisition. He has first-hand experience in effectively reviewing the company’s systems and analysing possible risk factors. Prior to Azure Power, he was Partner at S.N. Dhawan & Co LLP (member firm of Mazars in India) and worked with Uno Minda Group as General Manager, Finance and Accounts. He also served as Director, Assurance Practices at S. R. Batliboi & Co. LLP (Ernst & Young).
Vijay is a fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds bachelor’s degree in commerce (Hons) from SGTB Khalsa College, Delhi University.
Gaurang has cross functional experience across the power & renewables sector, which covers bidding strategy, sustainability and energy markets. Under his leadership at Azure Power, the company’s portfolio has grown by over 2,500 MWs. Prior to joining Azure Power, Gaurang has worked with Vestas Wind India, Caterpillar Inc., and other clean energy startups.
Gaurang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology. He also holds Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance & Strategy and another Master’s degree in Energy & Sustainability, from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Harpreet Singh has over 29 years of multi facets techno-commercial experience in leading Supply Chain Management, strategy development & implementation and project procurement. He also has expertise in management of domestic and international Logistic activities for Large Scale Infrastructure Projects across India. Prior to Azure Power, he was Head of Business Operations at First Energy (Thermax). His other experiences include leadership positions in supply chain at SB Energy (SoftBank), Schneider Electric, Siemens India, Ballarpur ind., Moser Baer among others.
Harpreet holds Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management from CII Institute of Logistic and B.E (Industrial Engineering) from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. He has also completed certificate program for Business Managers from IIM, Bangalore and Strategic finance for professionals from ISB Hyderabad.
Srinivas Kompella has more than 25 years of experience leading quality assurance across infrastructure, auto components and consumer durable industries. He has extensive experience in orchestrating quality programs to drive key engineering & operational improvements and minimization of risk with positive impact to cost-revenue-capacity growth on the basis of BU strategies & process maturity. Prior to Azure Power, he has worked with Indus Towers as Head of Quality Management. His other experiences include senior leadership positions in Nokia Siemens Networks, Delphi Automotive Systems, Gates India, Timken, Gabriel, Denso and Timex Watches.
Srinivas holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Bengaluru University and has completed an advanced management program from Harvard Business School. His professional accreditations include six-sigma master black belt and certified lead auditor for various quality management systems.
Shelly Mani Panattu brings over 29 years of experience in Project Execution, Construction, Operations, Change Management, Stake Holder Management with global experience in Power Transmission, Distribution and Renewable Energy Sectors. Prior to Azure Power, he worked with SB Energy (Soft Bank Group), INOX, ReGen Powertech, Schneider Electric, Vestas Wind, ABB in various roles and capacities while building world class infrastructure facilities.
Shelly holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur.
Vikas brings 14 years of experience in structured and project finance, risk management in infrastructure sectors with focus on renewable energy during the last decade. He has been a part of the Capital team at Azure Power during last 2 years, managing foreign debt providers and M&A transactions. Prior to Azure Power, Vikas served as Group Executive Vice President, Corporate Finance at YES Bank. Vikas was instrumental in YES BANK’s leadership in Renewable Energy finance and Policy Advocacy. He also worked with ICICI Bank in the credit risk management team.
Vikas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Hons) from Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University and an MBA in International Business from Dept. of Commerce, Delhi University.
Sachin Bali has more than 25 years of experience in IT Infrastructure Management, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Digital Transformation, Microsoft Power BI, SAP/ERP application management, Datacentre Management. Prior to Azure Power, he served as Head of Information Technology at Tower Vision India Private Limited. Prior to that, he worked with Action India Private Limited and Candico India Limited.
Sachin holds various Certification Like SAP, MCP, MCSE, CCNA, ITIL, CISM, CCSP Network Security Associate (NSE1, NSE2 & NSE3). He is a graduate from Delhi University and currently pursuing Master’s degree in Information Technology from Lovely Professional University.
Col Saumitra Joshi is a retired defence personnel with more than 33 years of experience in Risk Management, Crisis Management, Information Security Operations, Budget & Cost Management and Security Strategy. Prior to Azure Power, he served as the Head of Security at Raipur Energen Limited (REL), Adani Power and has held leadership positions in Indian Army before moving to the corporate sector.
Col. Saumitra is a graduate from National Defence Academy, Pune. He holds two master’s degrees in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University and Total Quality Management (MTQM) from University of Lucknow, respectively. He is also a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Professional Certified Investigator (PCI).
